    Hello, and welcome to Overtone.

What you just heard was a singing bowl recorded in spatial audio. We'd like to share a little bit about what's behind the creation of Overtone, and to illustrate how listening to these specific instruments recorded in this unique way makes exploring the full spectrum of our emotions more tangible, and gives us easier access to discovering the different parts of ourselves.

It is very important to use headphones while listening to the Overtone app, so you can experience the full 3D immersion of what's called binaural audio. To illustrate how effective this technique can be on influencing the senses, notice how you might even feel the sensation of warmth on your ear.

Listen, and be transported by the sound of dried leaves as they move around your head. Thanks for watching! To create this feeling of being in the room, the sounds are captured using a mannequin head with two microphones in each of its ears.

This technique mimics the way we as humans hear sound naturally, so that when listening back on headphones, you can feel the chime as it moves from the left side of your head... ...to the center... over to the right side of your head.

In essence, the Overtone app emphasizes a sense of presence through the sound, and in the room and in your being. You can use the Overtone app in a variety of ways, for meditation, relaxation, and as intentionally curated soundscapes for extended, transformational journeys.

Content includes over 100 hours of binaural audio recordings of individual instruments, as well as curated sequences of various lengths. It features different facilitators and styles, all with a focus on the practice of deep listening.

In addition to a constantly updated library of tracks, the Overtone app features special events streamed live through the app. Also included is an archive of past events and performances. Thanks for your curiosity to check this out.

We hope you enjoy using the Overtone app, and find it to be a useful and supportive tool on your journey of self-discovery.
